everyday

In the United States, an average of 105 men take their lives each day. Behind each number lies a person—a son, a brother, a friend—whose absence leaves an indelible mark on the world.

“Everyday" is a solemn yet powerful photography series that puts faces to these heartbreaking statistics. Through 105 poignant portraits of men we aim to shed light on the human toll of suicide and the importance of mental health awareness, fostering empathy and understanding for those who battle unseen demons.

The men (young, old, trans) in these portraits are very much alive, captured in moments of vulnerability, strength, and resilience, yet struggling silently with their own inner battles. The portraits, bathed in direct sunlight and set against the open sky, employ pronounced shadows to visually convey the duality of life, imbuing the scene with an ethereal quality.

May this visual journey inspire conversations about mental health, remind us to reach out to those in need, and cultivate a community that supports and uplifts one another.

“Everyday” will launch as a street art campaign and gallery exhibition in Los Angeles. The goal is to simultaneously create a lasting reminder of the struggles individuals face and raise finishing funds for the 501c3 supported feature documentary “Total Sun”, a film about homeless artists which touches on themes of drug addiction and suicide.
